St Christopher's is a Catholic School whose primary purpose is to educate the children in the Catholic faith. It is a community that shares a Christian belief based on the Gospels. St Christopher's provides the children with the opportunities to become active members of our Catholic community.
At St Christopher's we value the whole person, therefore we nurture the spiritual, intellectual, physical, cultural, social and emotional development of each student. We will develop in the children a sense of self control and respect for themselves and others. We will stimulate in them, critical participation in our society based on a commitment to human dignity, justice and peace.
A group of dedicated, professional teachers, parents and the wider parish community work together to provide a quality education for our children. We believe that this is vital for their future success.
At St Christopher's we offer specialist programs in Music, Library, Physical Education, Italian, Chinese and Special Education. There is an Aftercare Program operating at the school. Parents are always welcome and actively encouraged to take part in school activities like reading, writing, swimming, P.M.P, tuckshop and excursions. There is an active Parents Association who arrange social and fund raising activities throughout the year.
The school is an integral part of the parish. There are many occasions when the school and wider parish community celebrate together. These include weekly class Masses, senior students involved in parish healing Masses and sacramental programs.

Avila is a Catholic regional girls’ college catering for about 1000 students from Years 7 to 12 and conveniently located in the heart of Mount Waverley.
The College provides quality education through a curriculum that balances traditional academic studies with innovative programmes and vocational pathways. An exciting range of extra curricular activities provides further enrichment.
The College was established in 1965 by the Presentation Sisters who accepted an offer by the parishes of the Waverley area to establish a Catholic girls’ college. Central to this was a commitment to encourage girls to achieve both academic and personal success. This continues to be our aim.
From a small beginning, Avila has grown into a vibrant, outward-looking Catholic secondary college, pursuing excellence and searching to give meaning to its motto "Ecclesiae Filia" which is Latin for "Daughter of the Church.
We believe that students learn well when they are respected and valued. Our curriculum and pastoral care programmes are designed to provide each student with the opportunity to succeed and to realise her individual potential.
Behaviour and discipline policies are based on Christian values which uphold the dignity of the person. Each girl is encouraged to grow towards a womanhood of faith, hope and love.
Avila College has enjoyed strong growth since it was first established and as its reputation has grown within the community. As a result, the number of applications for Year 7 exceeds the number of places available and preference is given to students from feeder primary schools such as St Christopher’s.
The College Principal is Ms Filomena Salvatore.

The College opened in February 1980. It was established from the amalgamation of St Thomas More College (1968-1979) at Forest Hill and Chavoin College (1966-1979) at Burwood. While the school is relatively new, it has benefited from the rich traditions of the two Colleges. The Year 7 - 10 campus is located at Forest Hill and the V.C.E. campus is at Burwood. Since its beginnings the College has also welcomed students from parishes in the cities of Knox, Whitehorse, Yarra, Boroondara and Monash. Many students have also come from overseas (Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau and Vietnam). Exchange students have come from Europe, Japan, United States and Brazil to help provide a rich and socially diverse student community.
The College was established to provide co-educational choice for families from parishes in our region. These include: St Michael's, Ashburton - St Scholastica's, Bennetswood - St Philip's, Blackburn North - St Thomas the Apostle, Blackburn - St Luke the Evangelist, Blackburn South - St Clare's, Blackburn South - St Benedict's, Burwood - Our Lady of Victories, Camberwell - St Cecilia's, Camberwell South - St Timothy's, Forest Hill - Holy Saviour, Glen Waverley North - St Christopher's, Syndal - Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Wattle Park.
The College occupies 2 sites. The VCE Campus caters for our Year 11 and 12 students and is situated in Warrigal Road, Burwood next to St Benedict's Church. The Year 7-10 Campus in Springvale Road Forest Hill has a more spacious setting with 2 playing fields, basketball and tennis courts and a multi-purpose hall for indoor sports.
The College offers a broad curriculum designed to cater for needs and abilities of all students. The College has 5 computer labs with Internet and email capabilities. An Outdoor Education elective has been introduced for Year 9 students. All Year 7 students experience a 3-day camp at Wilson's Promontory in February. Several VCE / Dual Recognition programs are conducted in conjunction with Box Hill and Holmesglen Colleges of TAFE. An extensive Music program is offered from Year 7 to VCE. At Years 7 and 8 Music is a compulsory subject and all students learn to use keyboard, a woodwind and a brass instrument. A choir and a number of ensembles and bands practise and perform regularly.
