Welcome to all our children. You are valuable members of our community. We will make available a variety of activities, but we also need your help to supply prayers, ideas and your suggestions. All will be welcome. There be may a story that you would love to share with others.
We will have a Creative Children's Mass each term. Paul Gleeson will facilitate the creative Children's Masses.
Parents please see our Family Resources section for a very good article on Praying with Children in Uncertain Times.
Children and adults love a story! It gets you in! Like a lift, once you enter the story it can take you up or down into a whole range of feelings, experiences and the struggle between good and bad. Jesus loved stories, too, and He often used a story to tell us how we should live and how much God loves us. This is the power of the story!
During the religious oppression in China in the 1950s, a small child named Mei was in prison with her Christian mother. The child had a remarkable faith and believed that the Spirit comes to all Christians much as the Bible says: “Peter and John placed their hands on [the believers], and they received the Holy Spirit.”
And so she requested and received the Holy Spirit in this way. Meanwhile, unsuspecting Chinese guards let Mei run freely throughout the prison. When Christians outside the prison found a way to smuggle Communion to prisoners, it was Mei who gave it to them - even those in solitary confinement. She said: “I’m not afraid; the Spirit is within me.”
Come Holy Spirit, inspire us with a faith like Mei's.
